New Delhi [India], March 10: Experts are warning women seeking life partners through matrimonial websites to be vigilant, as cases of financial fraud involving emotional and physical manipulation have nearly doubled. Priya Kakade, Director of Swift Detectives and Investigation Agency, reports a significant rise in such cases post-pandemic. Cases are nearly double from earlier; she highlighted with the emergency to alert all girls with ‘Alarm Call’. Priya Kakade, urges to take help of investigation agencies to verify details of the groom.

Priya Kakade, a renowned private investigator, held a press conference on the eve of International Women’s Day to raise awareness about the dangers of online scams targeting women. She revealed, “In my 20 years of experience, handling cases of divorce, extramarital affairs, private investigations, and financial fraud, I’ve observed a concerning trend post-COVID. Many divorces occurred due to increased domestic violence, and now, women are turning to matrimonial sites, only to fall victim to financial exploitation.”

Swift Detectives’ findings indicate that divorced women in their 30s, women with average appearances, and those who are overweight are particularly vulnerable. Societal pressures and family expectations often lead these women to rush into marriages without thorough background checks.

Priya Kakade shared a case where a woman married a man she met online. After having a child, she discovered he was gay. Swift Detectives provided evidence for her divorce, securing alimony and child custody.

Reasons for Lack of Due Diligence:

    • Financial constraints and limited marriage prospects.
    • Divorce, having children from previous marriages, or advanced age.

    Warning Signs:

    • Financial Exploitation: Men establish emotional and physical intimacy and then demand money.
    • Lack of Due Diligence: Women and their families often skip background checks due to desperation or societal pressure.
    • “Alarm Calls”:
      • Be wary of men who quickly become emotionally or physically intimate.
      • Question why a seemingly desirable man is so eager to marry you.
      • Any rush to marriage without proper verification should be a red flag.

    Recommendations:

    • Verify the man’s profile thoroughly.
    • Avoid financial transactions before marriage.
    • Confirm his employment and financial stability.
    • Conduct background checks with neighbors, colleagues, and employers.
    • Seek the help of a private investigator.

Swift Detectives and Investigation Agency urges women to recognize these “alarm calls” and seek professional help to avoid becoming victims of online matrimonial fraud.
