New Delhi [India], February 25: Globally renowned sculptor Aarti Gupta Bhadauria is causing a stir with her stunning terracotta sculptures, each expressing raw human emotions in abstracted forms. Bangalore’s Sublime Galleria, which hosted a month-long solo exhibition of Aarti’s terracotta sculptures at UB City in January 2025, is now collaborating with Conrad Bangalore to present her next solo exhibition. Running from February 21 to March 21, 2025, this month-long showcase offers visitors another opportunity to experience Aarti’s evocative terracotta creations. This exhibition transforms the hotel’s lobby into a gallery of expressive, thought-provoking art.

The first day had a mixed audience, comprising art lovers from India and other countries, who were entranced by Aarti’s exquisite craftsmanship. Each sculpture in the show has a tale to tell, crafted with devotion and taking six months or more to accomplish. “Even I cannot make an identical replica of any of my sculptures,” reveals Aarti, indicating the exclusivity of her creations. Each piece is born from a deep emotion, offering viewers something new to discover from every angle.

Aarti’s journey in art began with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Sculpture, from the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Gwalior, in 2004. Drawn to the richness of terracotta, she embarked on an artistic journey that led her to Bangalore in 2009, where she continued to refine her technique. Her distinctive style—depicting movement and emotion in clay—has won her widespread recognition, both in India and internationally.

She has had her work displayed in India as well as the USA and has been awarded many of the highest honors. Aarti is the single Indian woman artist to have received several international awards for her terracotta sculptures, representing her nation proudly across the world. She is dedicated to breaking the misconception that terracotta is only used as a medium for pottery as well as folk art, instead showing that terracotta can also be a part of modern-day fine art.

With her thought-provoking sculptures, Aarti Gupta Bhadauria is not only making art—she’s narrating stories, evoking emotions, and finding a niche for terracotta in contemporary art.
