India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections have reached ₹2,11,000 crore (₹2.11 lakh crore) in July 2026, marking a 15.4% year-on-year growth. For the government, this represents the fastest growth rate in 14 months, and the second time in the current financial year when monthly GST inflows crossed the ₹2 lakh crore milestone.

This surge has come on the back of tax revenues from imports, along with steady domestic economic activities.

The total domestic GST revenues (gross) have increased 10.1% year on year to ₹1.45 lakh crore (increasing from ₹1.31 lakh crore in July 2025). Revenues from imported goods have seen a substantially steeper rise, increasing 28.8% to ₹66,511 crore.
