Srijan’s Durga Puja 2026 Anthem ‘Amra Uma’ Shifts the Festive Story from ‘Homecoming’ to ‘Belonging’

A Kumari Puja-inspired music video from Srijan Realty shows a housing community opening its gates and its Pujo to girls from a neighbouring slum.

Srijan Realty’s Durga Puja 2026 music video, ‘Amra Uma’, released on 12 October 2026, is a Bengali Pujo anthem about who gets to belong in a community’s celebration. The film is streaming on YouTube.

The film follows two Pujo mornings unfolding side by side: one inside a housing complex, the other in a nearby slum. A group of young girls from the slum walk to the complex but stop at the gate, unsure whether they belong. A resident steps forward and welcomes them in. The girls are not treated as guests. They become the heart of the celebration and are honoured in the complex’s Kumari Pujo.

Where most festive films lean on nostalgia and family reunions, Srijan has chosen inclusion. The story is anchored in Kumari Puja, the authentic Bengali tradition of worshipping a young girl as the living goddess Durga, regardless of her background. That gives the message genuine cultural footing rather than an invented metaphor.

“This Pujo, we wanted to step beyond the usual festive narratives and show what truly makes a community special: its ability to welcome others into its warmth. This film is a testament to the inclusive way of living we envision for every Srijan property.”

    — Keshav Agarwal, Associate Director, Srijan Realty

The song carries the story. A children’s chorus chants “Amra Uma” (“We are Uma”), and its central lines, which speak of taking the hand of the Uma at home and leading her forward, mirror the film’s defining gesture of a hand extended in welcome.

For Srijan, a real estate developer in Kolkata, the campaign turns community from a feature of the property into a value that residents live by, and brings the ‘Life at Srijan’ promise to the screen: a community whose residents decide, in their own warmth, who belongs.

“A great community is measured by who it makes room for. ‘Amra Uma’ puts that idea at the centre of Pujo, where it belongs, and reflects the culture of warmth we want every Srijan home to carry.”
    — Karan Agarwal, Associate Director, Srijan Realty
